What Gender will you play? Why?
Don't worry, the poll is anonymous, so vote with confidence.
For the purposes of this poll "roleplay" has nothing to do with pretending to be a Dwarf or an Orc, or a member of Chaos or Order. In this scenario, "roleplaying" a male means you act like a male when you talk to other players, and "roleplaying" a female means you act like a female when you talk to other players, regardless of what your toon looks like.
For example if you are a male playing a female toon just because you want to look at the toon, you would not "roleplay" as a female. You would tell group members, guild members, etc., hey, I'm a dude, I'm just playing a female toon, so quit telling me I'm sexy. On the other hand, if you are male, and playing a female toon and roleplaying a female, then you would pretend you are in fact female, or at least play your character like it's a female.
I personally don't care when people roleplay opposite genders. Since I'm not going to date anyone from an MMO, it really makes ZERO difference to me, if you are really a guy or really a girl. I also don't know if you are really fat or not, or really 17 instead of 70, or really bald, etc. I'm playing a game, and I want to play WAR, not WarMatch.com with Orcs.
I did not include the scenario, where you are a Male in real life, you play a Male toon, but roleplay as a female playing a male toon. I suppose this would be possible, and someone might do it, but it seems like it would be very rare, and rather convoluted. Same for females, playing a female toon, but roleplaying as a male playing a female toon. Does that make sense?
I tend to play female characters, even though I'm male, in single player games, just to look at the toon. Kotor would be a good example of this. In online games, I play a male character, because I want to act male, and not deal with confusion dealing with other players that might think i'm really female if I play a female toon. Although I must admit, I did roll up a few female toons in City of Heroes just because they are fun to look at.
